SPECIFICATIONS OF MORRIS GARAGE ZS (EV) ELECTRIC VEHICLE
MG Motor or Morris Garage is a British brand name known for its sports car and mini cars earlier. The company was founded by Cecil Kimber in the year 1924. Over the years with its journey, many owners of the company have changed due to diversified business, and now finally stable with the company called a Chinese state-run SAIC motor. SAIC is the 7th largest automotive design and manufacturing company in the world.
Around 2 years ago, in 2017 MG Motor inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Gujarat and announced its plans. These include premium and mid-size SUVs in the market followed by an all-electric SUV. The first car that MG introduced in the Indian market was MG Hector in 2018.
But today we will know about MG ZS EV, the electric vehicle of MG with 2021 updates. After Tata Nexon MG ZS EV is the car that has won the hearts of people. MG ZS EV is an all-electric SUV and the second product from the British brand name carmaker for the Indian market.
From the front view, the car's look has its own signature MG look and features a diamond-studded grill pattern and chrome surround identical to the ones. This grill also covers the car charging point, which can be used by lifting the illuminated logo. It has sharp LED headlamps and gets a front bumper with a wide central air dam.
The windmill-inspired alloy wheels strike everyone's attention quickly. This model uses new 215/55/R17 tires. The ground clearance of the MG ZS EV has been increased by 16 mm, which is now at 177mm. Large windows, roof rails, and the ORVM (Outside Rear view Mirror) with turn indicators give a premium look. From the backside, the large LED tail lamps make it a classy look.
Talking about the interiors, the Black color gives a sharp look, in and out from the cabin is very spacious, the leather quality gives you a premium and the steering gives a sporty feel. All-way electrically adjustable things or in-reach accessibility has a great benefit for the driver's point of view, except the telescopic steering for the perfect driving position. From the 2nd row, the panoramic sunroof feels great. The cabin light and armrest are little drawbacks for the vehicle.
MG ZS EV comes in new-age features or updated features like iSmart EV 2.0, music from the Ganna app, weather from Accu-weather, and nearby charging stations from TomTom. Voice control and internet inside make the vehicle a moving home.
The cool thing that I liked about this electric vehicle is the charging ambiance, when you put the vehicle on the charge the MG logo on the front grill glows up and indicates you get charged. Once the glowing stops mean the vehicle is fully charged. It charges 0-80% within 1 hour by 50 kW DC charger and takes 6-8 hrs to fully charge in 7.4kW AC home charger.
Though MG ZS EV is electric but still produces a maximum power of 140.8 bhp and 350 Nm of maximum torque. If we rotate the knob in the 'D' position or Drive position and leave the brake and accelerate, it sprints 0-100 in just 9 seconds. I believe it feels good to sprint so fast. All the three modes Eco, Normal, and Sport are differentiated through the throttle response.
The regenerative braking system helps the electric vehicle to regenerate the battery charge while driving from the hilly areas or by using brakes in traffic areas. Regenerative braking literally helps in hilly areas while descending.
A 5 star Euro NCAP(New Car Assessment Program) safety rating with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD(Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), hill-hold, hill-descent control, all seat belt remainder, and even 3 point seat belt in the second row are the part of safety.
MG ZS EV comes in 2 variants Excite and Exclusive with 3 color options, Ferris White, Copenhagen Blue, and Currant Red. Copenhagen Blue color is only available in the Exclusive variants. The exclusive variant comes a little upgraded than Excite.

Conclusion
I personally feel this EV is a good vehicle for a day-to-day drive or a weekend drive on a single charge, because of its range i.e 300 which feels awesome. Later, as the EV industry is growing rapidly, surely there will degradation in EV vehicles.
