Zero motorcycles, a California-based electric motorcycle manufacturer has recently released its latest motorcycle model, the Zero SR/F. This new electric motorbike has been moving towards the head of the industry, offering impressive performance with a sleek design and advanced technology.

The best way to describe the Zero SR/F riding style is "aggressive" with a sporty attitude that feels quite comfortable while launching. It is actually the naked version of the Zero SR/S, with only cosmetic differences. Besides the visual differences, the motorbikes are identical, meaning the same battery and powertrain are featured with some significant updates.

What are Zero SR/F Specifications?

The Zero SR/F electric motorbike is powered by a Z Force 75-10 electric motor that delivers 110 horsepower and 140 pound-feet maximum torque. The Zero SR/F electric motorbike is available in 2 different versions, one is the premium and the second is the standard version.

The premium version of this motorbike has a 6kW onboard charger rather than a 3kW onboard charger that cuts the charging duration to half with level 2 charging stations. A 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is replaced by an Internal Combustion engine, an electric motor is fitted instead of transmission and box-sized storage is there instead of the fuel tank.

It also has 4 types of modes that are ECO, STREET, RAIN, and SPORT mode. In SPORT mode the bike has a top speed of 124mph and can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Zero SR/F has a range of approximately 161 miles in the city and 99 miles on the highway, depending on the riding styles and conditions.

One can upgrade the Z-force batteries to provide 20% more capacity. It comes in a new die-cast aluminium design that provides better thermal management and weatherproofing. Like earlier said, the bike is available in two versions, In the standard version ZF 14.4+ kWh battery pack, and the ZF 15.6+kWh battery pack in the premium version. An optional power adds to an impressive number of 20.9kWh.

With no clutch and gear shifter, the rider's left hand and left foot are empty to occupy which makes this streetfighter almost a scooter because of its simplicity and ease to use. The Zero SR/F also has a modern, streamlined design with a trellis frame and a sharp angular tail section.

It also allows riders to share their riding data display and track battery management data and software updates etc.

In addition to its impressive power and range, the Zero SR/F boasts advanced handling and braking system which makes the ride joyful. The bike is equipped with fully adjustable Showa suspension which allows the best bike handling and responsiveness. A 5-inch colour touchscreen display allows riders to access a variety of information and settings. The display is Bluetooth enabled which allows the rider to connect their smartphone to use the Zero motorcycle app.

Talking about the range, it depends upon how fast you are travelling, the faster you drive the shorter the possible range. The Zero SR/F features a high-capacity battery that can be charged using a standard household outlet or Level-2 charging station.

Using a level-2 charging station, the battery can be charged to 95% in just 5 hours which means the riders can easily charge their bike overnight and can use it as a fresh start in next morning. The regenerative braking system captures energy that is lost during braking and feels back to the battery, which helps to extend the range and reduce the need for charging.

The premium model includes a 6kWh battery pack that takes 2.5 hours to get charged from 0-80%. But do you think it is as good as DC fast charging, then it's not because DC fast charging will suppress more power in the bike quickly and leaves you back on the road in less time, which is important in touring or you did not want to hang up at the charge stop.
